NCAA Final FourAnother week has passed, and more teams have fallen. The NCAA Lacrosse Championship season has resulted in valiant victories, and crushing defeats. Among the 16 teams that entered the Men’s and Women’s playoffs, only four remain in each tournament.

The University of Maryland has fought all season and both their Men’s and Women’s teams heave reached the Final Four.

D1 - NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Bracket

The Maryland Terps bested Bryant University at Hofstra’s Shuart Stadium in New York, with a final score of 16-8. The Terp’s Men’s team was relentless until the very end, scoring goal after goal until time expired. Senior Mike Chanenchuk had a career high 9 goals in the game. He is the first Terp to do this since 1979. The victory over Bryant will put Maryland’s Men’s Lacrosse team against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

In the other game, Duke will face Denver in the semifinals for a chance to compete in the championship.

The Denver-Duke faceoff will take place at 1 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Maryland and Notre Dame game will begin after game one, at 3:30 p.m.

Division 2 & 3 matchups have been determined, and both games will take place this Sunday, the 25th. The D2 championship game will be between Long Island University Post, and Limestone College, while the D3 game will be between Tufts and Salisbury.

D1 - NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Bracket

The Maryland Women’s team also advanced to the semifinals of the 2014 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament. The Lady Terps defeated rival Duke 15-8. Taylor Cummings led the effort by scoring five goals, while Beth Glaros chipped in with 3 goals and 11 draw controls. The game was very intense, but the women of Maryland Lacrosse ultimately ended up top.

In the semifinals, Maryland will face Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. Syracuse and Virginia will battle for a spot in the championship game at 5 p.m. Both games take place this Friday, the 23rd at Towson University.
