Are you excited for lacrosse playoff season yet? Well, get excited – this is an exhilarating time for the world of lacrosse!
Over the next couple of weeks, the NCAA’s greatest college teams are competing for the championship title. There are some intense matchups slated for both the Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse divisions. Here’s how the brackets looked for the weekend of May 10-11:
NCAA Men’s Lacrosse
vs. Air Force (ECAC) Score: 9 – 20 (Duke)
vs. Johns Hopkins Score: 14 – 8 (Hopkins)

vs. North Carolina Score: 5 – 9 (Denver)
#4 Penn (IVY)
vs. Drexel (CAA) Score: 16 – 11 (Drexel)
vs. Bryant (NEC) Score: 10 – 9 (Bryant)
vs. Cornell Score: 7 – 8 (Maryland)
#3 Loyola (PATRIOT)
vs. Albany (AMERICA EAST) Score: 13 – 6 (Albany)
#6 Notre Dame (ACC)
vs. Harvard Score: 5 – 13 (Notre Dame)
Maryland bested the Cornell lacrosse team, which has now pitted them against Bryant in the quarterfinals on May 17 at 12p.m. Eastern. Albany took down the ferocious Greyhounds of Loyola, which will pair the Great Danes against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame on May 17 at 2:30 p.m.
The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays will faceoff against the Blue Devils of Duke on May 18 at 12 p.m. after their victory against the number 8 seeded Virginia. Denver and Drexel will go head to head on the same day at 2:30p.m.

It’s worth noting that Maryland has sent the second highest amount of men’s lacrosse players to the tournament this year, at 96! You can represent Maryland teams (or any of your favorites) with some awesome college swag. It’s a great way to grow the game!
NCAA Women’s Lacrosse
This weekend, NCAA Women’s Lacrosse teams will be competing for a spot among the final four. The quarterfinal matchups are as follows:
Maryland vs. Duke (TBA)
Northwestern vs. Florida (May 17 - 2 p.m.)
North Carolina vs. Virginia (May 17 - 1 p.m.)
Boston College vs. Syracuse (May 17 - 1 p.m.)
The match between the women of the Maryland Terrapins and the Duke Blue Devils is going to be heated! These two rival teams are always gridlocked in an intense matchup. Taylor Cummings, a sophomore Women’s Terp, has really been on fire. She led the team against Penn with 10 draw controls, in addition to a hat trick. Cummings has several accolades, and is sure to make for a worthy competitor alongside her teammates in the game against Duke.
