If you're familiar with lacrosse, you already know that the game is growing by leaps and bounds, and that participation numbers in the United States are increasing year after year. This additional interest in the sport has made it a viable one at the collegiate level, as more and more Division I schools are adding the program to their respective athletic departments. For instance, as of 2014, there were 67 Division I college lacrosse programs - and that's not even considering the 57 Division II programs and 216 Division III programs.

So, yes, for those that work hard enough, there is an opportunity to play the game at the next level. Perhaps you're even among the few that earn a lacrosse scholarship (per NCAA rules, DI programs are allowed to award 12.6 scholarships per four years to lacrosse recruits). But it goes without saying that some lacrosse colleges are a cut above the rest. With that being said, here's a look at the best Division I college lacrosse programs to play for. Continue Reading

What is different here are the materials and manufacturing processes. Continue Reading

With increasing participation at the high school level and more and more colleges adding the game as one of their varsity sports, lacrosse is arguably in the midst of a sports renaissance.

And the participation numbers don't lie.

Once considered primarily a regional niche sport, lacrosse is well on its way to becoming a major sport in the United States – that is, if you don't believe that it already is! There's a professional league - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), nearly 70 Division I college programs (not to mention hundreds more if you factor in Division II and Division III programs, as well), and record-breaking participation numbers on the youth circuit. In fact, according to U.S. Lacrosse, there are nearly 750,000 laxers competing on organized teams, as of 2013. That's a 3.4 percent uptick from the previous year, and considering that over 400,000 of these registered laxers are at the youth level, this number will likely only increase even more moving forward as more grade school-aged kids pick up the sport.

So just why is lacrosse experiencing a participation and growth boom? Here's a look: Continue Reading
